Dear participants,

In 2019 we will co-create the story of the European sporting event on our most beautiful river, the emerald Soča River. This event will be of great importance to our municipality, sports tourism and promotion. We are aware of the importance of this event and this is one of the main reasons we joined the organisation with Canoe Federation of Slovenia and Bovec Municipality. We look forward to sports gatherings, competitions and meeting all of you who are connected and united in this sport. Trnovo ob Soči, the village in our municipality, will experience rebirth and get a place on the map of important sporting destinations.

Dear guests!

The Soča River and Bovec Region have been known as canoeing Eldorado for a long time. I am pleased that we will host Wildwater Canoeing European Championships and meet many top-level competitors, supporters of canoeing sport and admirers of beautiful Soča River. We will do our best to make you feel comfortable and that you will enjoy your stay and return to us over and over again.

Dear athletes,
Dear representatives of the National Federations,

One of Europe’s most beautiful and picturesque rivers, the Soča River, will once again become the centre of attention in canoeing. The course between Srpenica and Trnovo ob Soči, which hosted the ICF Wildwater Canoeing World Championships in 1991 and Wildwater Canoeing European Championships in 2013, is well known in canoeing. I proudly invite you to the competition we organise in cooperation with Bovec and Kobarid Municipalities between 14th and 18th May 2019.

The incredible nature will not be the only marker of the upcoming competition. We will do everything in our power to organise exciting, fair and most of all safe competition which will present the wildwater canoeing to the world as the sport of nature, pure joy and sport of champions. The latter will be your merit – valued competitors.

With combined efforts we will organise the championships that will be the pride of all of us.
